Attention all celebrities!!! No one cares about your political views or who you're voting for, so SHUT UP. Most of you sound moronic when you talk about every day situations, so you think you sound more intelligent because you're talking about politics? Get a clue. Seriously stick to acting, singing or whatever else you can do remotely well and leave the political analysis and banter to the political professionals. (even though some of them sound stupid as well.) On the celebrity note...any person that is now comparing Obama to Jesus and Sarah Palin to Pilot...seriously, die. I hope one day you look back and hear how cult like and crazy you sound.
Since I don't really want to make this blog have any political reference or biases, I'll also just quickly and as kindly as I can say one last thing...
Speaking as a woman and a feminist myself, I am completely and utterly ashamed of where this country is going...especially in regards to how sexism is literally pouring out of every news outlet. I mean I guess it makes sense considering blacks got the right to vote before women, so therefore, blacks get more respect than women in this country when it comes to news coverage. However, I thought the media was supposed to be unbiased and to cover all aspects of the news, but I guess I was wrong.
The way the media is lashing out against Palin honestly makes me sick to my stomach. Whether its the criticism about her family, her clothes, etc, to even photoshopping her head to a sexy body, I can't help but feel really ashamed of how ignorant and disrespectful people in America still are. There is honestly a lot of hate out there and in the upcoming months before the election its going to keep getting uglier and uglier. This also brings me back to celebrities...if you don't like Palin or McCain, neat, just don't tell us. I know you all like to hear yourselves talk, so talk about yourself instead. Anywho...
As for all you so called feminists out there, where's the feminists love? No woman should bash Palin on the fact that she is a woman or a mother. I understand if people don't agree with her viewpoints, you don't have to, we're all entitled to our own opinions, but for the love of god respect the woman. How would you feel being the first official female nominee for Vice President and have everything and everyone doing what they can to tear you down?!? We should be proud of the fact that we at least have one woman being represented front in center of politics right now, even though its not the right woman per say. (Clinton) We need to be proud that women are finally being seen in the spotlight and while we may not fully agree with aspects of Palin's political views, we should encourage the media to at least analyze her as they do a man...on what she says and does, not on what she wears or how many children she has.
I guess enough with that. I'm honestly just upset with both parties but I'm especially ashamed and disappointed in the democratic party. Hey Democrats, stop following Obama like he's the leader of a cult and to be on the safe side, don't drink any punch at Obama events...ya never know. Also, to all those people making your bold claims about wanting to kill yourself, move etc if the Republicans do win, I hope you hold up on your end of the bargain if you don't get your way on election day!
As for me, the former Edwards staffer, feminist, democratic woman....I think I'm looking to the future and realizing that Obama isn't going to make it all better, only we are, if we grow up and learn how to be better and smarter people first.
